Life Pilates Vancouver

supports you.

At Life Pilates Vancouver, all of our teachers are certified in classical Pilates, with extensive study in all five of the Elder lineages. This gives us a wide range of tools to use during each lesson.  Our goal is to help you become more in touch with your body and to develop the skills to use it to its fullest potential.

There is no cookie cutter layout that will suit everyone, therefore we customize as much as needed. Someone who is wishing to recuperate from an injury will need different exercises than someone who is wanting to prepare for a marathon or an important competition. We will guide you through each program, and use your goals to determine the best path to success.

We are currently looking to hire an additional instructor.  Applicant must be fully certified in all apparatus and all levels.  Please send resume and certificate of program completion to Katie@lifepilatesvancouver.com. Competitive compensation and clients on a waiting list.  Interview, audition and teaching observations part of the vetting process.

Our Classes

We offer private and duet sessions, plus small Mat, Reformer and Tower classes that create a more personal experience and deeper understanding of your body.

What is Pilates?

Pilates is a system of exercises designed to educate the body by developing balance and efficient movement patterns. The use of breath, movement visualization and mental focus, stretching, coordination and strength enables the body to find a way of functioning that is unifying and expansive. By doing so we help the body to heal the imbalances that cause structural dis-ease and chronic pain.

Who is Pilates for?

No matter what you are seeking, from extreme athletes to those recovering from injury, Pilates is unique in its ability to tone and balance the musculature and overall anatomical structure. You will feel longer, stronger, more powerful and energized and in better control of your body.

How can I get started?

We recommend beginning with at least two private lessons per week. This helps to create forward momentum in the development of your body and knowledge of the fundamentals. Maximum benefit is achieved by continuing in the private setting. However, if this is not possible, weekly lessons can consist of Mat, Duet lessons or Equipment classes, supplemented by an occasional private.

  • I was in the Lowes’ parking lot. A gentleman in a nearby parking space was having difficulty loading his materials into his vehicle. I offered to help and had little difficulty. He said, “Wait until you are my age. You will see what it is like.” I said I was 68. He was quiet for a moment, then asked what I was doing. He was 62. Thanks Pilates!
